Ford Raptor Packs in Baja Mode to Take You Off-Road

The idea of a pickup truck that is equally impressive whether on the job or at play is a goal that many truck makers have worked toward over the years. There have been great off-road trucks that didn’t quite hold up their position when it came to road driving. Then there have been great work trucks that couldn’t get out and play in the dirt. Bloomington car dealers are is happy to announce that the newest Ford Raptor is ready to fill both roles and eliminate any question of versatility.

Baja 1000 and Baja Mode

The 2017 F-150 Raptor has a mode for off-road fun called Baja Mode. The name is a tip of the hat to the Baja 1000 desert race where Ford has been known to test trucks over the years. Surely you’ve heard of Tesla’s “Ludicrous” mode, which makes us think of the movie Spaceballs, and Ludicrous Speed. Essentially Baja Mode is the same thing for heading off-road. There are six different modes on the new Raptor, including Baja Mode. The other available options are:

  • Normal
  • Sport
  • Weather
  • Mud/Sand
  • Rock Crawl

Presets with Freedom

The preset modes offer different driver assist options and stability control, while also changing the steering feel, tranny mapping, and ABS. With the Baja Mode being designed for high speed desert driving, the settings offer more power, improved engine response, quicker shifts, and longer gear holds.

Previous Raptor models have had these different modes, but they weren’t packaged quite as neatly. Drivers had to use a chart to manually activate specific settings. The new mode packaging makes it easy and efficient to press a button and immediately receive the response needed for whatever driving situation may arise.

Anyone who is looking for a vehicle that they can drive to work or off-road should check out the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. It’s a truck that will be fun for everyone in the family, and the preset modes will make sure that no one gets stuck out in the middle of nowhere after deciding to take it off-road for a bit.

Ford technology is present in every aspect of the Raptor, which means that not only will your new truck perform, it will keep you comfortable and connected while you play. Want to blast some tunes while you climb the dunes? Not a problem. Need to use GPS Navigation because you made a wrong turn somewhere in the desert? Again, not an issue!

Ford makes driver satisfaction a priority when designing cars and trucks, so, if you think Baja Mode is cool, just wait until you see what else is in store for you in the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor.

You can visit Bloomington Ford dealers this fall to check out the new Raptor and take it for a test drive. After the great performance of the newest F-150, it’s easy to predict that the 2017 Raptor will fly off dealers’ lots across the country.
