Lincoln & Tribeca Film Festival Work Together to Build Smartphone App

When you think of Lincoln cars, you probably think of luxury and a high price tag. How often does Lincoln bring to mind the Tribeca Film Festival (TFF)? Actually, for two years now Lincoln has been a signature sponsor of the TFF and has long been a supporter of the arts. Bloomington Lincoln is proud to be part of the Lincoln family and the world of the arts throughout our great country. This year Lincoln, TFF, and IM360 Entertainment collaborated to create and capture an amazing tribute concert to honor Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday and make an app to share the experience with fans of Sinatra, the arts, and Lincoln.

The Concert
On April 21, 2015 at Spring Studios in New York the unique concert experience was an exclusive ticketed event. Performances included re-imagined Sinatra classics sung by artists such as Brandon Flowers, NE-YO, Lea DeLaria, and Alice Smith. While these modern artists performed songs like New York, New York and Luck Be a Lady, cameras were filming using 360-degree technology, capturing performances and backstage footage.  The resulting film is a truly unique view of the concert and a great way to pay tribute to one of the greats. Mr. Frank Sinatra may be gone, but his music and class live on.

The App
Once the concert was captured, a free app was created that is available through the App Store for Apple iOS cell phones and tablets, and through Google Play for Android. Keep in mind, you may have message and data rates when using the app. Look for “TFF: Sinatra at 100,” and you will be able to experience the amazing concert and Lincoln Black Label vehicles through exclusive video content. The App is best viewed using a virtual reality headset for your Smartphone or tablet. Some of the content will be available on Lincoln’s YouTube channel and 360 channel.  This project has been in the works for the past 3 years, and the commitment of Lincoln, TFF, and IM360 have made it all possible.

Why an App?
Lincoln is a luxury car line; what possible use would they have for a musical concert app? The Lincoln Group marketing manager John Emmert said, “This free app serves as an example of Lincoln’s commitment to personal service, giving viewers the luxury of choosing when and where they enjoy the performance. Viewers will feel like they are experiencing the Sinatra tribute first-hand, creating a personalized experience from the comfort of their home – a key piece of the Lincoln Black Label experience.” When you think of Lincoln, you may not think of modern technology such as smart phones and apps  –  these vehicles evoke a sense of class and luxury that you don’t equate with everyday people. But the collaboration shows that Lincoln is a luxury car line that is keeping up with technology and which is interested in creating a well-rounded experience for its customers.

Bloomington Lincoln offers you the chance to experience the amazing luxury vehicles shown in the app. Visit us today and test drive a new Lincoln model to see what all the fuss is about!index
